The DfE has launched a cross-government School Sport and Activity Action Plan, building on what has already been an exciting summer of sport for the country.
This sets out steps to help more children and young people get physically active, including £2.5 million of funding to provide support for schools to:
- Provide extra training for PE teachers;
- Open up more school facilities at the weekends and on holidays; and
- Increase volunteering opportunities.
