This message has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Service Lead for School Effectiveness, Johnny Kyriacou, for the attention of Secondary Headteachers and Heads of 6th Form.
Slough Borough Council is hosting a half marathon on October 14th 2018 for the first time in 24 years and we need your support to make it a fantastic success. We need to recruit 500 volunteers to support on the day and it would be ideal if we could recruit at least 100 or more young people from 6th form to support the event.
In order to help for planning we would be grateful if you could show interest by completing the application form attached and returning it to sloughhalfmarathon@slough.gov.uk
At this stage we do not need to know names of 6th formers but would like to get a steer on indicative numbers and commitment so please just put down a number e.g. 5, 10, 15 volunteers etc. Naturally we will finalise the names in September after the summer holidays.
This is a great way to get young people involved in an exciting event in the town and of course afford our young people an opportunity to add volunteering to their CV.
