This information is brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Early Years team, for the attention of all Reception teachers and EYFS Leads in Primary Schools.
Thank you for signing up to attend our recent webinar. We appreciate that due to the heatwave, not everyone who planned to attend live was able to. We hope that those of you who attended found the session useful and informative, and that others will find the recordings below helpful.
If you haven’t already, we would really appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete our short feedback form. Your input helps us improve future webinars: Supporting smooth transitions into Reception
We are attaching a copy of the slides, and links to recordings of our most recent webinars:
- Supporting smooth transitions into Reception
- Setting up for Reception success – Panel with Sue Robb, Sir Kevan Collins & Tim Coulson
- Mastering the EYFS profile assessment
We will upload these recordings to our webinar page in the coming days. Please feel free to share the recordings with colleagues who may find these webinars helpful.
Our Reception Improvement Offer page contains details about the other reception offers available which you may be interested in. The Kindred resources referred to in the session can be accessed here: Home - Starting Reception
We would also like to highlight that, as mentioned in the webinar, this Autumn sees the introduction of the new Excellence in Reception Teaching. This is a funded course for current or aspiring reception teachers who want to build on their existing reception-specific pedagogy. The course is a mixture of flexible self-study and live, facilitated sessions. Registrations open in July and full details can be found here: Excellence in reception teaching course: register your interest - GOV.UK
GLD report
To support the government’s target of 75% of children reaching a good level of development (GLD) by 2028, the Department for Education has published a “Compare your GLD” report for schools, trusts and local authorities available on View Your Education Data.
Your GLD report provides clear insight into EYFS outcomes and is a valuable tool for leadership, curriculum planning and early years improvement.
For help accessing or interpreting your report, see the GLD User Guide, the DfE webinar (September), the FAQ document hosted on VYED, and the step‑by‑step walkthrough video on YouTube.
Reception Networks
Our Reception Networks, led by selected lead schools with strong practice, bring together leaders and teachers to support improvement in reception provision through collaboration and shared learning.
If you are not already involved, we encourage you to join your local network. Further information is available via the Reception Networks GOV.UK page: Reception networks - GOV.UK
