The Youth Endowment Fund has published a news story investigating why children carry knives or weapons. It explores statistics on knife crime from 2019-2023 in England and Wales and provides resources on preventing knife crime. These include a toolkit which summarises research on the effectiveness of different approaches to preventing violence; guidance on how to reduce children’s involvement in violence for education settings; and guidance on supporting children who have been arrested.
