This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Service Lead for SEND, Vikram Hansrani.
Slough Borough Council wants to hear your views on changes it wants to make to how it provides additional (top up) funding for children and young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
The new approach has been developed by a group of head teachers, SENDCOs, local authority officers and a range of specialists. It is intended to make sure that the funding for children and young people with SEND is used most appropriately.
The Local Authority plans to introduce the new arrangements from 1st April 2019, for new requests for EHC assessments and for children with an EHCP who are transferring to the next education phase in 2020. There will be no changes to the funding for children and young people in existing placements.
