This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Early Years Advisory Teacher, Karen Loft, for the attention of all Early Years and Childcare Practitioners.
Sent to you on behalf of Wakia Islam from the Professional Development Programme Team (Department for Education).
Following the previous e-mail about PDP 3 backfilling funding, please see the Memorandum of Understanding. The Memorandum of Understanding sets out the working relationships and expectations relating to the grant funding payment from the Department, and the crucial role they ask local authorities to play in supporting the Professional Development Programme. See below Fill and Sign instructions which sets out guidance to providing the e-signature on the pdf.
Next steps
The team will require your Section 151 officer to review and then sign the Memorandum of Understanding. It then needs to be returned to the department, in PDF format, by Friday 10th February 2023.
Please send responses to the mailbox earlyyears.pdp3@education.gov.uk - your LA name and the words ‘MOU’ should be included in the email “subject” field when submitting them.
Once you have signed the MOU, it will take effect from the date it is signed by both DfE and the Grant Recipient - The first Grant Determination Letter is planned to be issued in March 2023.
Please be aware that without a signed MOU returned, they are unable to make PDP3 grant payments to your local authority.
The team will be running their next series of local authority webinars, to update you on progress and answer questions about the programme, in early March. The invitations will be sent out shortly. If there are any questions or you would like to discuss any aspect of the PDF, please get in touch via e-mail on EarlyYears.PDP3@Education.gov.uk
