The Slough Children’s Service’s Trust Ofsted full report has now been published, along with the press release from the Trust. Please see attached for your information.
The inspection, which took place between January 14 and February 1, found that the support received by children in Slough who need help, care and protection is much better than it was when the Trust was first set up in 2015.
We know that significant progress has been made by both the Trust and the Council, taking us out of our inadequate rating and into “requires improvement to be good”.
In addition, we have had letters from the under-secretary of state and Ofsted thanking staff for their commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children.
Whilst there are only four Ofsted ratings and the language can be quite muted, this rating and the associated report shines a real light on the significant improvements that have been made.
We would like to give our genuine thanks to the dedicated staff of the Trust and the Council who worked tirelessly - not just recently, but over the last few months and years - to get us to this place and we know you are committed to continuing our improvement journey to “good” and beyond.
- Josie Wragg, Chief Executive and James Swindlehurst, Leader of the Council.
