Smile Month 2022

This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Service Public Health Lead, Sabrina Kerr, for the attention of all Early Years providers and Schools.

This campaign focuses on promotion of good oral health and provides children, families and teachers with resources and support.

During National Smile Month (16th May - 16th June 2022), we are promoting four key messages for better oral health:

  1. Brush teeth for two minutes, last thing at night and one other time during the day, with a fluoride toothpaste.
  2. Clean between your teeth every day.
  3. Cut down how much and how often you have sugary foods and drinks.
  4. Visit a dentist regularly.

Jacqui Shadrache is working closely with the early years settings to support their delivery and promotion of oral health promotional work.

Our providers have attached a number of activities and resources for schools and early years settings to promote this message and raise awareness of the importance of oral health.
