School to School Support

There are a variety of ways that school to school support is facilitated in the LA. The Slough Teaching School Alliance plays a key role in providing training and CPD for schools and also in keeping an inventory of NLEs and SLEs that schools can tap into when needed. The LA Autumn Term Visits are designed to capture best practice at schools and then share that information at the Slough School Improvement Board (SSIB) in order that schools can see what local expertise exists and how best to use it. The Local School Improvement Fund has been set up in collaboration  with STSA in order to encourage schools to work together and facilitate the school led improvement system.

Cyberbullying Programme for Primary Schools - ‘Click’

Cyberbullying is any form of bullying that is carried out through the use of electronic media devices, such as computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets, or gaming consoles. Messaging apps, gaming sites and chat rooms such as Facebook, XBox Live, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat and other chat rooms can be great fun and a positive experience but it’s when these platforms become a place to bully and control someone the problem’s start.

Safeguarding in Education

The Children Acts 1989 and 2004 provide a framework for our service standards. Section 10 of the Children’s Act 2004 places a duty on schools to co-operate with the local authority to provide information to safeguard a child.

International Day of the Girl Celebration

On Sat 6th Oct 2018, ‘International Day of the Girl Celebration’ will be held at Upton Court Grammar School, for female students in Year 9 – 13 to attend a day of workshops, information and networking in recognition of the global annual event. Building on the success of the last few years, we are pleased to be able to open this year’s event up to 150 students.
