Slough Family Information Service (FIS) offers FREE impartial information and guidance about a wide range of services for children, young people and their families in response to statutory duty placed on local authorities.
ISS works with schools, colleges and other agencies to provide advice, guidance and support to ensure the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) are met within an educational context.
This area of the service ensures that schools are aware of and can comply with the statutory assessment arrangements at each key stage. It also provides appropriate support and training for making accurate judgements.

The child criminal exploitation tool is for anyone who works with children, including those who work in the voluntary sector. If you are worried that a child may be being exploited, this tool gives you a list of indicators to help you work it out and take appropriate action. Often, children do not recognise themselves as victims, or that they are being groomed, and as a result disclosures of such abuse can be unlikely. Therefore, this indicator tool aids the identification of exploitation. The tool can be accessed here.
