BBC Gladiators micro:bit competition!

This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council on behalf of BBC Gladiators and micro:bit competition, Digital Researcher, Steve Prince for the attention of all schools.

We’re excited to send you a press pack for the launch of the BBC Gladiators micro:bit competition!

Thanks to the BBC micro:bit – the next gen campaign, there are now micro:bits in 90 percent of UK schools. This Autumn the campaign has teamed up with the hit TV show Gladiators to launch this new design competition for 7 – 11 year olds across the UK.

The competition launches with a special Live Lesson at 11 am on 15 October 2024. The Live Lesson will be available to watch on the BBC Teach website and on the CBBC channel.

The competition launch features star guests, and a set of FREE lesson plans that will bring Gladiator fun into your classroom.  You won't need a micro:bit or any prior coding knowledge to join in, and there are lots of exciting prizes to be won! These will be revealed on our launch day on the 15th October.

Please help us spread the word! We’ve attached a social media and comms pack, and we’d love for you to share the assets on your social channels and upcoming BBC Teach posts. By sharing, you’ll help bring awareness to teachers and create an unmissable classroom experience for their students.
