Training sessions, designed to provide you with comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge and skills for working with babies and children under 2 years old. These sessions have been developed in partnership with the NHS Health Visiting team and will be delivered by Sharon Rose (EYAT) and Louise Yvinec (Health visitor).
Sessions will cover:
· Infant feeding and weaning - making, storing, and sterilizing bottles, supporting breast feeding mothers, nutrition, & portion size
· Child Safety - safe sleeping, risk assessment and choking.
· Basic care - nappy changing, washing, oral hygiene, safe sleeping.
· Well-being and mental health - mothers, practitioners and babies.
· Childhood illnesses & vaccinations
· Learning & development - baby brain development, child development, development milestones, interactions & attachment, baby room environments
The sessions will be face-to-face and include practical activities, film clips, and discussion.
Both sessions MUST be attended **

Time: 9:30am - 3:30pm
Venue: Chalvey Community Centre
Course is a train-the-trainer format; with the expectation that those attending will be able to cascade the information to their staff team.
Please note that there is an initial booking limit of 2 staff from each setting to allow more settings to attend. If you would like more staff to attend, please contact the team and we will create a waiting list.

This course is completely subsidised by the LA to support the governments new EY entitlements and provision for babies from 9months.
*EYFS Statutory Framework requirement
3.40 For children aged under two:
• There must be at least one member of staff for every three children.
• At least one member of staff must hold an approved level 3 qualification, and be suitably experienced in working with children under two.
• At least half of all other staff must hold an approved level 2 qualification.
• At least half of all staff must have received training that specifically addresses the care of babies.
• Where there is a room for under two-year-olds, the member of staff in charge of that room must, in the judgement of the provider, have suitable experience of working with under twos.
