This training has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council's Education Safeguarding Officer, Jatinder Matharu, aimed at all Designated Safeguarding Leads from Slough Schools who undertake the role within their setting.
Aim: By the end of the course you will have increased understanding, knowledge and confidence to carry out the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
Recognise good practice and essential elements to creating a culture of safeguarding within the school/setting.
Objectives:

Outline the roles and responsibilities of the DSL and provide information to support DSL’s adapt to the changing landscape of safeguarding

Identify legislation and guidance pertinent to your role and recognise good practice

Recognise essential elements to creating a culture of safeguarding within your school including and transfer learning to support safeguarding culture in school:

Understand and effectively contribute in multi agency systems and processes to safeguard children

Creating a safe culture for staff and children including your own values regarding child abuse and the impact of these on professional practice

Exploring levels of need risk indicators and levels of interventions for vulnerable children at risk of exploitation
