20.06.2025 | Overview of hot weather over the next 5 days

Amber heat health alert is currently valid until Monday morning, for the ongoing dry, sunny and hot weather across all regions. This is expected to continue on Friday and Saturday, with maximum temperatures in the low 30s of Celsius, most likely peaking around 33-34 Celsius on Saturday. Saturday is also likely to see the development of heavy showers, with a chance of severe thunderstorms developing across northern parts of England. These could include frequent lightning, large hail and gusty winds. As these clear east overnight into Sunday, fresher conditions are likely for most parts. However, very warm temperatures are likely to continue across parts of SE, London, East and East Midlands regions, although currently expected to peak just below 30 Celsius. Overnight periods are also expected to be warm and humid, especially Friday night into Saturday. Friday and Saturday will also see Very High pollen for much of England and some Moderate air pollution levels, potentially exacerbating the conditions. More changeable weather is then signalled to move across all areas Monday and Tuesday, bringing a mixture of sunshine, occasional showers and bands of more persistent rain. While rain is most likely across western areas, temperatures are expected to widely fall closer to normal June values, and below the Low threshold for all regions.
