Early Years & Childcare National Recruitment Campaign

This article has been brought to you by Slough Borough Council on behalf of the The Early Years Entitlement Team for the attention of all Early Years and Childcare Practitioners.

Dear Colleagues,

Launching this week: Early Years and Childcare National Recruitment Campaign – upload your vacancies to Find a Job

The Department for Education’s early years recruitment campaign is launching on Friday 2 February!

The campaign will promote early years and childcare careers by highlighting the huge difference early years professionals make to young children and how rewarding working in the sector can be.

It will be a multi-channel broadcast campaign running across TV, cinema, social media, online, radio and out of home advertising to boost interest in the sector and support the recruitment of talented staff.

In addition, the campaign will have its own dedicated website. This will direct potential applicants to use DWP’s Find a Job vacancy platform to search for early years, childcare and wraparound roles in their area.

As a reminder, we would be grateful if you could encourage your local providers to list any current or upcoming roles in their setting on Find a Job ahead of the campaign launch. Please share the attached instructions to help them create an employer account and post their vacancies.

Providers should use the term ‘early years’ in the title of their job adverts and select ‘Education jobs’ for the job category.

Since the January opening of the registration process for the expanded entitlements offer, we have seen a high level of demand from parents. This service is free to use and will ensure vacancies are seen by a large pool of potential candidates.

Following the launch, we will also provide you with a toolkit containing social posts and assets that you can use on your channels for your own promotional and recruitment needs.

Kind regards,

The Early Years Entitlement Team
