Operation Encompass:
I would appreciate it if all schools ensured that their safeguarding contact details were up to date with Operation Encompass. As a result of a review of the data maintained by Operation Encompass, it has become apparent that many school details have become outdated and people have since left the school. Based on my previous advice, I recommend that schools use a generic safeguarding email address that is only accessible to the safeguarding team. In this way, you will continue to receive alerts for any changes to your DSL or DDSL or for any reason where DSL/DDSL may be off work for any reason.

It is highly recommended that you complete the key adult training for Operation Encompass if you have not already done so. You can access it online for free. This training provides a refresher on domestic abuse, children as victims of domestic abuse, how Operation Encompass works in principle, and how staff can assist children experiencing domestic abuse. Also included is a module on children with other vulnerabilities and those who are missing from their homes or care.
